Three Premierships
The first decade of the new century brought three premierships to Templestowe Cricket Club: a commanding C1 victory in 2000/01, an Under 16 B triumph in 2004/05 and a closely fought B2 win in 2007/08.
The surviving match records preserve the performances behind each flag, from Michael Pitts and Lindsay Anderson sharing all ten wickets in 2000/01 to Luke Costa’s six-wicket haul in the junior final and Phil Tatterson’s unbeaten innings in the 2007/08 run chase.
2000/01 — C1 Premiers
Pitts and Anderson seal a commanding victory
Templestowe opened the new century with a convincing C1 premiership, defeating East Box Hill by 147 runs in the grand final on 17–18 March 2001.
Led by captain Graeme Tuckerman, Templestowe batted first and compiled 249. Brendan Hale top-scored with 81, supported by Rohan Wheeler’s 51. Lindsay Anderson contributed 35 and Paul Anderson added 23.
East Box Hill’s reply lasted 40.1 overs as Templestowe’s bowlers took control. Michael Pitts claimed 6/66, while Lindsay Anderson returned 4/32. The pair shared all ten wickets, dismissing East Box Hill for 102 and securing the premiership by 147 runs.

2004/05 — Under 16 B Premiers
Costa’s six wickets secure the junior flag
Templestowe’s Under 16 B side claimed the 2004/05 premiership with a 31-run victory over Forest Hill in a grand final played across 12 and 19 March 2005.
Captain Andrew Zaicos led the scoring with 42 as Templestowe made 146. Grant Westgarth contributed 17, while Andrew McCormack added 13.
Defending that total, Templestowe’s bowlers dismissed Forest Hill for 115. Luke Costa produced the standout performance, claiming 6/32 from 12 overs. Daniel Vardi supported him with 2/15, while Grant Westgarth took 1/11.

2007/08 — B2 Premiers
Tatterson sees Templestowe home in a two-wicket finish
Templestowe’s third premiership of the decade came in a closely fought B2 grand final against Koonung Heights, played across 8, 15 and 16 March 2008.
Under captain Richard Harford, Templestowe bowled first and dismissed Koonung Heights for 162. David Arfi led the attack with 5/47 from 25 overs, supported by Hayden Manassa’s 3/23. Koonung Heights batter Stewart Andrew provided the main resistance, finishing unbeaten on 51.
Templestowe’s chase featured contributions from Richard Harford (35), Tim Groenewegen (23) and Zac Harford (19). Phil Tatterson anchored the innings with an unbeaten 42.
When Zac Harford was dismissed, Templestowe were 8/161, still two runs short of victory. Tatterson and Steven Walters remained at the crease as the side reached 8/165, securing the B2 premiership by two wickets.
