WOOLWORTHS CRICKET BLAST
Ages 4–10
A fun, game-based introduction to cricket where kids learn the basics, make friends and discover the joy of being part of a team.
SUPER 7s
Stage 1 · Learn the Game · Ages 5–10
The perfect first step into junior club cricket.
Super 7s is designed for players ready to move from Cricket Blast into junior club cricket. Played with a soft ball, a shortened pitch and seven players per team, it gives every child plenty of opportunities to bat, bowl and field.
Players can be dismissed but continue batting until they've faced their allocated balls, keeping everyone involved and learning.

Training on <TBC>, games on Sunday mornings at 9am.
SOFT BALL · 7 PLAYERS · 20 OVERS · UNLIMITED DISMISSALS
FAST 9s
Stage 2 · Play & Compete· Ages 5–12
Fast 9s builds on the skills developed in Super 7's, introducing a more structured and competitive game while keeping players actively involved.
With nine players per team, players continue to get regular opportunities to bat, bowl and field while developing their game awareness, teamwork and decision-making.

HARD BALL · 9 PLAYERS · 25 OVERS · 8 WICKETS
UNDER 12's / 14's / 16's / 18's
The next step in the journey — more cricket, more competition and plenty of fun along the way.
From Under 12s onwards, players move into traditional junior cricket, with longer games and a more structured competitive format. Players continue to develop their skills while learning more about the tactics and decision-making that are part of the game.
Matches are played for premiership points, with finals at the end of the season.

Junior cricket formats are designed to support players as their skills and confidence develop. If you're unsure which program is the best fit, our Junior Coordinator can point you in the right direction.

Often the best option is to come along to training. We can get a feel for your child's skills and advise which program would suite them best.
HOW LONG IS THE SEASON?
The season starts in October and runs until March. There is a break for Christmas that aligns to the school holidays.
WHAT ABOUT EQUIPMENT?
NEW TO CRICKET?
Don't worry about having everything on day one.
UNIFORM
All new players get a club shirt and cap as part of their registration fee. You just need to purchase a pair of white pants (e.g from Kmart or Rebel Sports).
EQUIPMENT
If your child has their own gear then bring it along (but label it please). Alternatively, we have plenty of gear that you can use. We do recommend that once playing with a harder ball, they at least bring their own abdominal guards.
NEVER PLAYED CRICKET BEFORE?
That's absolutely fine.
Junior cricket at Templestowe is about learning, improving and enjoying the game.
Players develop their cricket skills while learning how to work as a team, make decisions on the field and grow in confidence.
Whether your child has never held a bat before or has been playing for years, we want them to enjoy coming to the club.
